Based on Dr. Mary Pipher’s Reviving Ophelia: Saving the
Selves of Adolescent Girls, one of the seminal nonfiction
books of our time, this is the gripping story of four teenage
girls battling the corrosive influences of popular culture and
each searching for the personal North Star that will guide her
home. Playwright Bennett, specifically chosen by Dr. Pipher
to adapt her work, deftly leavens the drama with humor,
tracing the intertwining lives of these four girls from first
grade through middle school, and then through high school to
graduation and young adulthood.

work] spills into a compassionate criticism of life.” Laughing Wild is
an exploration of a man’s and a woman’s shared nightmare of
modern life and the isolation it creates. This is typical of the urban
anxiety themes in Durang’s numerous award-winning theatre and
screen plays. Amid his parodies of drama, literature, movies,
families, show business and society, “Durang leaves the audience
laughing wildly and thoughtfully.” (WARNING: Some strong language)

family of aristocratic cats, and how an alley cat acquaintance helps
prevent a greedy butler from catnapping them. It features such
wonderful songs as "Everybody Wants To Be a Cat," "Scales and
Arpeggios," "Use Your Nose," "Thomas O'Malley Cat," and, of
course, the title song "The Aristocats." A delightfully entertaining
play for the entire family.
